I have just found in a box in our attic an amazing soft and life like seal cub (26 in long) made by Lefray bought for my baby in 1976 – Sammy the seal – still in great condition. It is not only teddies that survive!!!!

“Steevans Manufacturing Co Ltd” was based in Gnosall, Staffordshire, England. It was formed by the partership of
Mrs Edith Steele (wife of local Doctor) and her brother Algernon Evans – hence the name “Steevans”.

My grandmother use to make Lindee bears for years. She still has two bears that she made and they are 46 years old….
